How the resistance feel on pedal works for drive by wire model cars. What my precise question is actually the resistance that we feel when we press the gas pedal. How is that works. I would assume either a spring against which we are pressing the pedal which gives a resistance effect or the etc electronic throttle control generates a resistance feel. I would be very glad if you kindly share this information.
Carquestions i have the base cab model and it just happened to me that the pedal got stuck down when i was about to stop and now i just noticed that when i come to a stop the truck wants to turn off but, when i pull the gas pedal up with my foot the revs come to normal. Do i have this issue. I think so thanks for the video man!
Its a throtle position sensor with a pedal attached to it.
I can tell you my sienna accelerated at full throttle i was traveling at mph on cruise control, i pressed the brakes to take change highways, as i entered the other highway i pressed the resume button the toyota accelerated at full throttle i was at mph when i applied the brake. I then turned the cruise control off. There is definitely something wrong with these vehicles. I have driven probably over million miles in several different vehicles and never experienced anything close to that.
The problem with detecting and investigating sua events is that there isn t much evidence to show what the computer ecu, etc. Was thinking at the time of the incident. Sure it can record speeds and what not, but what about the operation of the ecu itself?
I see that this video dates from years ago, and i guess by now you have already read michael barr s and philip koopman s reports on toyota ua problems and how they can be related to the way software was designed.
I find you to be very mechanically inclined and intelligent. It was nice to watch your video.
Any generator. There are two all effect chips, exposed to magnetic fields one increasing while the other decreasing in order to have double confirm and redundancy
Good friend of mine for years that works at a toyota dealership, the stuff that he has been telling me that s been going on with the ecm, pcm modules, and rotten broken tundra truck frames is really scary! Be afraid! Be very afraid to ride drive in one! ! He said you couldn t even pay him to own one. That says a lot coming from the shop master mechanic!
Toyota tried to claim floor mats were the problem, but that wasn t the case. It s a computer power surge problem from voltage spike to the ecm, cruise control module. Never gonna buy the toy car company s lies. They have more recalls than they have been reporting.
Could cruise control malfunction of any kind cause the mysterious full acceleration?
I m worried about toyota s design flaws that cause majorsafety issues. This is a must see. Warning potentially deadly steering failure on a toyota sienna
Fyi i am buying a new car and trading the toyota in so ford can deal with toyota service department
Today my toyota dealership service department refused to honor the recall for my camry again. I have been trying to get them to honor the recall since. I am never going to buy a toyota again and i would be leary if you buy a toyota. At first it would take off like a rocket, i took photos but toyota said it was the mats. I removed the mat and my car will not accelerate at all. I can drive up to mph. This is pathetic, why send recall letters if toyota will not fix their mistakes?
For one thing. There was no reason for people to lose their lives due to the pedal being stuck to the floor. At any time while driving the motor can be turned off i know i ve done it with every car i ve owned. Another thing also at anytime while driving the gearshift can be put into n so even if the engine is racing to hell it s not going anywhere i worked for a company that leased toyota forklift trucks from toyota and when we received the models they were made of the flimsiest materials imaginable co, pared to our older models. I had a chance to compare the two and i could tell that from the wheels to the mast total inferior parts were used. In fact it wasn t a year before those weak hydraulic hoses needed replacing. It s ironic considering that the same year that those lifts were built was the year of that stock crash. Anyone with a brain in their head could connect the two events. For every malfunctioning car in those years. Idiots.
Its nothing to dogas pedal its simple game make afaik recalls get the cars to the dealer shops release the cars that belong to the owners who have paid. Cage the other ones that belong to the brook a owners in the backyard for sale to middle east as used cars. Afaik recalls saving repossessed cost middle east money.
I don t feel comfortable defending car companies but in this case it is most definitely warranted. This was an exact reply of the audi issue from even minutes put on bogus claims you can t get a copy of that episode i tried, there is a legal hold apperently. This is brake pedal misapplication pure and simple
I don t know what to think about this recent hand out by toyota to the family who had relatives suffer a fatal accident due to their sticking accelerator pedal in their toyota. Do you believe it is legit? Or is it blown out of proportion, a ploy by us manufacturers to give a giant foreign car maker a bad name? I honestly don t know. I certainly don t think there is anything doubting the quality of safety of toyota products. They are considered to be the best in the world.
Pedal kind of reminds me of the electric race track car controller i had as a kid.
Computer controlled throttle can get better gas mileage, collision avoidance, and in the future to drive itself
